TAROTSCOPE

January 2012

2012 is a ‘Gateway’ year-- a year of dynamic change and great opportunities.  Numerologically, 2012 adds up to the number ‘5’.  ‘5’ years are about exhilarating social interaction, communication and change.  Although the concept of change can be frightening, the best use of this energy is to surrender to it and allow ourselves to be guided by it.  As we can already see, the world and everything in it is changing.  We can either go with these changes or oppose them-- there is no middle ground here.  If we go with the changes, we’ll open ourselves up to infinite possibilities for a new and evolved state of being.  If we oppose these changes, like the dinosaurs of the past, we won’t be able to keep up with the energetic flow of life and both we and our old ways will become extinct.   Ask yourself this question-- “what do I want for myself and what gifts do I want this new year to bring me?  And then-- allow the currents of changes to bring them to you.

Just as at the end of last year, your message for the beginning of this life phase comes in the form of an affirmation that will guide you in navigating your new terrain of possibilities and opportunities.  Print it out and read it often to remind you of your mission.

THE EMPEROR  (March 21 - April 20)  “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are.  I don’t believe in circumstances.  The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they don’t find them-- they make them.”  George Bernard Shaw

THE EMPRESS  (April 21 - May 20)  "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."   Michael Jordan

THE LOVERS  (May 21 - June 20)   "Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-- a desire, a dream, a vision."   Muhammad Ali

THE CHARIOT  (June 21 - July 20)  "When the door of happiness closes, another opens. But often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.  Remember, it's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.”  Unknown

THE SUN (July 21 - August 22)  “Unless it is supported by a practical plan, no creative, mundane or spiritual concept can come to successful fruition.”  Sheilaa Hite

THE HERMIT  (August 23 - September 22)  “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.  Now put foundations under them.”  Henry David Thoreau

JUSTICE (September 23 - October 22)  “Become a possibilitarian.  No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities-- always see them, for they're always there.”  Norman Vincent Peale

THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) "One of the saddest lines in the world is, 'Oh come now-- be realistic.'  The best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic.  They were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them horses to ride."  Richard Nelson Bolles

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21)  "Hope is a state of mind independent of the state of the world.  If your heart's full of hope, you can be persistent when you can't be optimistic."  William Sloane Coffin, Jr.

THE WORLD (December 22 – January 19) "If you're proactive, you don't have to wait for circumstances or other people to create perspective expanding experiences. You can consciously create your own."  Stephen Covey

THE STAR (January 20 – February 19)  Nothing is lost upon a man who is bent upon growth; nothing wasted on one who is always preparing for... life by keeping eyes, mind and heart open to nature, men, books, experience... What he gathers serves him at unexpected moments in unforeseen ways."  Hamilton Wright Mabie

THE MOON  (February 20 – March 20)  "Change has a bad reputation in our society.  But it isn't all bad-- not by any means.  In fact, change is necessary in life-- to keep us moving... to keep us growing... to keep us interested.  Imagine life without change.  It would be static... boring... dull."
