January 2018

Happy New Year! It’s a brand new year with refreshing new energy. Although last year was beyond gnarly in many ways, it was also a year when we discovered how deeply powerful and determined we are to have a healthy life of meaning, caring, and community.

Because of our insistence on working for, fighting for and supporting the Light of humanity, the tide has turned and now, even though there’s still a lot to do, we will be the victors if we continue moving forward with the energy and determination that have carried us through these past ugly times.

Your message this month is also the overall theme of the year for you and comes in the form of a quote. The first and most obvious part of the message is that we have choices. What and how we choose always determines whether we enjoy the results of our actions or whether we have to contend with the consequences of our deeds.

For All of Us:

“Make a list of important things to do today. At the top of your list, put “eat chocolate.” Now, you’ll get at least one thing done today.” Gina Hayes

and

“I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process….It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?” Unknown

and

“Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities—always see them, for they’re always there.” Norman Vincent Peale

THE EMPEROR (March 21 – April 20) Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks.” Phillips Brooks

THE EMPRESS (April 21 – May 20) “It is only when we have the courage to face things exactly as they are, without any sort of self-deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of events, by which the path to success may be recognized.” I Ching: Hexagram 5

THE LOVERS (May 21 – June 20)The reasonable person adapts themselves to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to themselves. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable person.” George Bernard Shaw

THE CHARIOT (June 21 – July 20) “When guilt rears its ugly head, confront it, discuss it, and let it go. The past is over. It’s time to ask what can we do right, not what did we do wrong. Forgive yourself and move on.” Bernie S. Siegel

THE SUN (July 21 – August 22) “The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced. Appreciate the mystery.” Aart Van Der Leeuw

THE HERMIT (August 23 – September 22) “It’s been proven that the only effective way to deal with fear is to walk through it, through the pain that accompanies doing something you’re afraid to do. It takes courage to fulfill your commitments, courage to stay on track, courage to follow your dreams, courage to reach your goals, and courage to walk through your fear. Remember, reaching goals is not so much about doing big things when the feeling hits you; it’s more about doing little things every day that move you toward your dream. It’s about staying steady and on course.” Francine Ward

JUSTICE (September 23 – October 22) “What you resist persists. And only what you look at, and own, can disappear. You make it disappear by simply changing your mind about it.” Neale Donald Walsch

THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) “People are always blaming circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want and if they can’t find them they make them.” George Bernard Shaw

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21) “I am not afraid of my Truth anymore, I will not omit pieces of me to make you feel comfortable. Love me for who I am or not at all. Decide if you are part of my history or part of my future…I am who I am.” Unknown

THE WORLD (December 22 – January 19) “Don’t think about the things you can’t do. No matter what the level of your ability is, you have more potential than you can ever develop in a lifetime. You have powers you never dreamed of. You can do things you never thought you could do. The only limitations are those of your own mind. Look at things as they can be. Never say never.”  The Daily Guru

THE STAR (January 20 – February 19) “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. The choice is up to you.” Winston Churchill

THE MOON (February 20 – March 20) “It is very important that you only do what you love to do. You must totally live. And at the end of your days, you will bless your life because you have done what you came here to do. Otherwise, your life is a sham and you will do things only for one reason—to please other people.” Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
