Happy New Year and Happy New Decade! 2020 brings us a fresh new year with exciting opportunities. This is the year to consciously take stock of yourself, your motivations, and your aspirations. Endings and beginnings, opportunities and challenges always trigger periods of profound reflection and soul searching. Use what you discover to create the life you were meant to have.
2020– a “4” Universal year and the beginning of a new decade, calls for us to put foundations under the hopes, wishes, and desires we’ve nurtured as we continue our 9-year trajectory of completion of this arc. It’s a ‘nuts and bolts’ year, a foundation year where we sort through and put in order our talents, skills, and resources. We are here to do miraculous, empowering deeds as well as discover and demonstrate courage, integrity, and heart. Let’s honor our intention by manifesting our dreams into positive reality.
Because of our insistence, especially during the last few years, on supporting all of humanity, the tide has turned and now, even though there’s still a lot to do, we will be the victors if we continue moving forward with the energy and determination that have carried us through these past ugly times.
Your message for this month is also your overall theme of the year and the decade. It comes in the form of a quote. Print it out, post it where you’ll always see it, and repeat it to yourself at least once a day.
For all of us:
“I love you, my sister and brother, whoever you are– whether you worship in your church, kneel in your temple or pray in your mosque. You and I are all children of one faith, for the diverse paths of religion are fingers of the loving hand of one Supreme Being, a hand extended to all, offering completeness of spirit to all, eager to receive all.” Khalil Gibran
and
“The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.” Abraham Lincoln December 1, 1862 in Message to Congress
and
“I love everything about me
I love my uncanny beauty and my bewildering pain
I love my hungry soul and my wounded longing
I love my flaws, my fears, and my scary frontiers
I will never forsake, betray, or deceive myself
I will always adore, forgive, and believe in myself
I will never refuse, abandon, or scorn myself
I will always amuse, delight, and redeem myself.” Rob Brezny
THE EMPEROR (March 21 – April 20) “The supreme act of courage is that of forgiving ourselves. ‘That which I was not but could have been. That which I would have done but did not do.’ Can I find the fortitude to remember in truth, to understand, to forgive, and to be free to move on in time?” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
THE EMPRESS (April 21 – May 20) “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, they make them.” George Bernard Shaw
THE LOVERS (May 21 – June 20) “It is very important that you only do what you love to do. You must totally live. And at the end of your days, you will bless your life because you have done what you came here to do. Otherwise, your life is a sham and you will do things only for one reason– to please other people. If, on the other hand, you listen to your own inner voice, which is far greater than anyone else’s, you will not go wrong, and you will know what to do with your life.” Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
THE CHARIOT (June 21 – July 20) “If you can imagine it, you can have it. This is the name of the game. This is the lesson to learn. It couldn’t be any easier. Reality is not what your eyes show your mind, but what your mind creates for your eyes to see. You are not limited by logic, the past, or the world around you. You are not of the world around you. You are supernatural, pure spirit. Magic, miracles, and luck are the consequences of understanding this, the inevitable result of dreaming and acting in spite of appearances.” The Universe
THE SUN (July 21 – August 22) “I truly believe we can either see the connections, celebrate them and express gratitude for our blessings, or we can see life as a string of coincidences that have no meaning or connection. For me, I’m going to believe in miracles, celebrate life, rejoice in the views of eternity, and hope my choices will create a positive ripple effect in the lives of others. This is my choice.” Mike Ericksen
THE HERMIT (August 23 – September 22) “YOU ARE AT THE TOP WHEN: 1. You clearly understand that failure is an event, not a person; that yesterday ended last night, and today is a brand-new day. 2. You have made friends with your past, are focused on the present and are optimistic about your future. 3.You know that success (a win) doesn’t make you, and failure (a loss) doesn’t break you.” Zig Ziglar
JUSTICE (September 23 – October 22) “The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is dead inside. To know that what is impenetrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties– this knowledge, this feeling … that is the core of the true spiritual sentiment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself among profoundly spiritual people.” Albert Einstein
THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) “You’re special and unique among all the creatures on the planet earth. You’ve been endowed with the capacity and the power to create desirable pictures inside your mind and to find them automatically printed in the outer world of your environment. Picture yourself vividly as winning, and that alone will contribute immeasurably to your success. All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them.” The Daily Guru
THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21) “Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no one could have dreamt would have come their way. I have learned a deep respect of one of Goethe’s couplets: ‘Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.’” William Hutchison Murray
THE WORLD (December 22 – January 19) “The master in the art of living draws no distinction between their work and their play, their labor and their leisure, their education and their recreation, their love and their religion. They hardly know which is which. They simply pursue their vision of excellence through whatever they are doing and leave it to others to determine whether they are working or playing. To themselves, they are always doing both.” Susan Fowler Woodring
THE STAR (January 20 – February 19) “It is enough simply to pay attention and trust the process: Whoever comes are the right people. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened. When it starts, is the right time. When it’s over, it’s over.” The Daily Guru
THE MOON (February 20 – March 20) “If one advances confidently in the direction of their dreams, and endeavors to live the life which they have imagined, they will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. They will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within them; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in their favor in a more liberal sense, and they will live with the license of a higher order of beings. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” Henry David Thoreau
