Spring is here and it always carries such a strong feeling of Hope for the present and the future. This year, let us combine our Hope with its allies Courage and Commitment as we move forward towards a better world. As always, remember who you are and what you stand for. I repeat last month’s advice (and until our results are achieved, I’ll keep repeating it): 2017 will bring big changes, many fraught with turbulence and previously unthinkable occurrences and events. We must all remember that each of us is capable of doing potentially mysterious, empowering deeds and of displaying courage, integrity and heart so vital and vibrant to the continuation of all that we hold dear– and then, we must do them.
On April 9th, Mercury Retrograde will once again visit us. And when that happens, all manner of mistakes and misunderstandings can occur. If you can, hold off on buying (or leasing) any big ticket items. It’s also a good idea to triple check any and all plans you make. This is an excellent time for research and going on retreats, as those things that are usually hidden from view, show themselves more easily during a Mercury Retrograde period. Wait until Mercury goes direct before making any big decisions and enacting any major plans.
Now, more than ever, this quote must speak to us and for us:
“Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities—always see them, for they’re always there.” Norman Vincent Peale
Your message this month comes in the form of an affirmation that’s an important reminder, as well a source of encouragement.
THE EMPEROR (March 21 – April 20) “When I get confused, I have learned to abandon my thought processes completely and ask my heart for direction. I sit in silence or do something completely different. In quiet, still space, I often know what’s needed, with a clarity I never get from the laboring of my mind.” G.K. Chesterton
THE EMPRESS (April 21 – May 20) “Value just being. “Many of us have been taught to believe that we are valued for what we do, not just for who we are. ‘Doing’ is important, but to keep life in balance, we also need time to just ‘be.’” The Daily Guru
THE LOVERS (May 21 – June 20) “Just as the tumultuous chaos of a thunderstorm brings a nurturing rain that allows life to flourish, so too in human affairs times of advancement are preceded by times of disorder. Success comes to those who can weather the storm.” I Ching
THE CHARIOT (June 21 – July 20) “It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.” Mahatma Gandhi
THE SUN (July 21 – August 22) “Hope is a state of mind independent of the state of the world. If your heart’s full of hope, you can be persistent when you can’t be optimistic.” William Sloane Coffin, Jr.
THE HERMIT (August 23 – September 22) “If you’re proactive, you don’t have to wait for circumstances or other people to create perspective expanding experiences. You can consciously create your own.” Stephen Covey
JUSTICE (September 23 – October 22) “Hope has two beautiful daughters– their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are.” Augustine
THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) “Nothing is lost upon a man who is bent upon growth; nothing wasted on one who is always preparing for… life by keeping eyes, mind and heart open to nature, men, books, experience… What he gathers serves him at unexpected moments in unforeseen ways.” Hamilton Wright Mabie
THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21) “My soul preached to me and said, ‘Do not be delighted because of praise, and do not be distressed because of blame. The trees blossom in Spring and bear fruit in Summer without seeking praise; and they drop their leaves in Autumn and become naked in Winter without fearing blame.” Kahlil Gibran
THE WORLD (December 22 – January 19) “Change has a bad reputation in our society. But it isn’t all bad– not by any means. In fact, change is necessary in life– to keep us moving… to keep us growing… to keep us interested. Imagine life without change. It would be static… boring… dull.” Dr. Dennis O’Grady
THE STAR (January 20 – February 19) “All things in this creation exist within you, and all things in you exist within creation; there is no border between you and the closest things, and there is no distance between you and the farthest things, and all things from the lowest to the loftiest, are within you as equal things– in one aspect of you are found all the aspects of existence.” Kahlil Gibran
THE MOON (February 20 – March 20) “God has given you a spirit with wings with which to soar into the spacious firmament of Love and Freedom. Recognize that life is what you get when you’re born– living is what you do with it.” Anonymous
