It’s September and “the hour is upon us.” That phrase is defined thusly: The situation has reached a point where there is no turning back– we must deal with it accordingly!

September, like August, is starting out with a dynamic full moon on the 2^nd! This month is a harvest month; it’s time to take a good look at the crop you’ve been growing all year and determine if you’re satisfied with the results. If you are, then admire and enjoy the fruits of your labors. If you aren’t satisfied, now’s the time to make the important changes that will yield the “crop” that reflects and nurtures you.

As you know, John Lewis, a great warrior who dedicated his life to making sure that we all have a better quality of life, died a few weeks ago.

He encouraged us to “Get in the way” of the evil in the world– to block it with our hearts, minds, and bodies. His instructions to us, “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America,” bear memorizing, repeating, and obeying. His admonition was never more true than it is today.

So, I repeat, if you’ve signed petitions or shared on social media– great! The change we need will take more than that, though. Are you willing to make phone calls, knock on doors, make signs, show up and be counted, VOTE? Because that’s what it’s going to take. The Universe is willing to help us. Are we willing to join with it and help ourselves?

Yes, we’re still dealing with powerful forces outside of our control, but the tide is turning and we must use it to our advantage. We must choose to be what we were created to be– warriors who think, act, care for, and promote what’s most beneficial for ourselves, life, and our world. Another John Lewis quote, “I believe in freedom of speech, but I also believe that we have an obligation to condemn speech that is racist, bigoted, anti-Semitic, or hateful. When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.”

How often did you say that to yourself?  Seriousness is a great quality and should be developed and encouraged. And so is frivolity—please give yourself permission to allow that natural part of yourself to develop and grow. April 2020 is here and of all of the scenarios we could’ve envisioned for today, our current set of circumstances probably isn’t one of them.

Much of our perceived personal power has been reduced by having to deal with circumstances outside of our immediate control. Our goals for our lives have become very simple and the rules and means for achieving those goals are also most basic. What we have any real power or control over is HOW we operate as individuals and as a society during these intensely transformational times.

This crisis won’t last forever. We can be mindful of our circumstances during these perilous times and use our personal power to focus our energy on what IS working and what we can do to perpetuate that truth. OR we can give in to our baser instincts of panic and fear and allow outside energy to negatively influence and control us.

Those of you who know me already know which option I’ve chosen. If ever there was a “lemons to lemonade” opportunity, this is it! You can choose to be a sheep and be led astray by those who don’t have your best interest at heart or you can choose to be what you were created to be– a warrior who thinks, acts, cares for, and promotes what’s most beneficial for yourself, life, and your community. THE EMPEROR (March 21 – April 20) You’re intelligent, innovative, intuitive. And you’re a force to be reckoned with, especially for the next six weeks. Whatever issues or problems you approach with strategy, diplomacy, and boldness will respond favorably to you. As a powerful manifestor– you’ll be able to attract the circumstances and the help you need in order to produce the results you want.

EMPRESS (April 21 – May 20) The wildly vacillating events of these chaotic times can have you going from one extreme to the other. This is upsetting a lot of people, but it’s especially upsetting to you because you feel most comfortable with a middle of the road approach to life. It’s time to learn and operate from a different perspective, though– one of activating and following the directions of your innate and spot on intuition. Things are different now and physically or mentally or emotionally clutching at neutrality will only destabilize you. Take deep breaths, trust that you’ll be fine, and listen to the Universe as it guides you in navigating your new course.

THE LOVERS (May 21 – June 20) This is a potentially magical time for you and there are so many blessings around you now. Relax that analytic mind of yours and don’t waste energy or opportunities trying to figure out how magic and blessings work. Just accept that they do, and in this receptive space you’ll recognize the people and circumstances that will help you achieve great and small victories.                                   

THE CHARIOT (June 21 – July 20) You’re taking one of life’s refresher courses right now, so if things seem a little unpredictable and slightly out of focus, don’t worry– it means you’re on the right track. You really are in the right place doing the right thing at the right time. Everything will begin to come clear and during the next two months, you’ll understand the purpose of what you’ve been going through. Be gentle and patient with yourself and the process and don’t resist the flow. There really is a happy ending to this chapter.

THE SUN (July 21 – August 22) Want to feel powerful, empowered, and deeply connected to the Divine? Then these words are your new mantra– “I don’t know.” This is a time for you to just let go and feel the truth, not “figure things out”. This empowering expression of openness and trust increases the depth of your own innate wisdom and connection to Source. You no longer have to feel as though you need to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders to prove your value. Your presence declares your worth.

THE HERMIT (August 23 – September 22) Your message is similar to THE LOVERS. Doing “less” will actually produce “more” for you. Please give yourself permission to relax that analytic mind of yours and allow the Universe to deliver what you need in order to make your dreams come true.

JUSTICE (September 23 – October 22) As the new season of spring, aka, POSSIBILITY, is upon us, it’s time for a meaningful meeting. Who is your historical role model– that person from history you’d love to meet and have a deep conversation with over tea or coffee? Sit quietly and imagine that you and your role model are doing just that– sharing space and wisdom together. Aside from this being a fun exercise, you’ll discover that you can tap into and use the infinite wisdom that your role model symbolizes for you. So go ahead, give yourself the gift of entering into this new era open to the wisdom and power that’s being offered to you.  

THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) The times are a’ changin’ and so must you. Your old mask of self-sufficiency and control is slipping. The mask not only kept others from seeing your vulnerability, it kept YOU from seeing and honoring it, too. It’s time to let go of the mask and embrace your true self. Acknowledge and consciously experience your vulnerable side. It’s a powerful, beautiful aspect of yourself that will benefit and strengthen you. You’ll love the results.

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21)   This is a powerful time for you and it’s important that you come to terms with the natural balance of the Universe and your place in it. Every action attracts a reaction of equal power and when you allow yourself to truly appreciate and value yourself and your experiences, you’ll find that the Universe truly appreciates and values you, too. As you do so, you’ll be rewarded spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

THE WORLD (December 22 – January 19)  As the fast paced, life-altering course entitled, “The Fine Art of Acknowledging and Owning Your Greatness” continues, it’s taking some unexpected turns. What were previously thought to be “yes’s” are looking a lot like “no’s.” Most of the time, don’t you hate hearing the word, “no”? It’s sometimes part of the curriculum, though. During these difficult times, I urge you to remember the wisdom of Errol Van Mannen– “God’s delays are not necessarily God’s denials.”

THE STAR (January 20 – February 19)  Sometimes, when you feel insecure, your first reaction is to build a wall and retreat behind it. This is not the time for that defensive strategy. Patiently sit with the discomfort of insecurity and go within and ask yourself what this feeling is really about. You’ll be amazed at the answers you receive and you’ll be delighted at the new sense of power and freedom you’ll experience as you begin to unburden yourself of “old baggage.”

THE MOON (February 20 – March 20) You’re especially tuned in now and it’s very important that you listen to your strong connection to Divine Source. You’ll discover that you’re privy to some extraordinary information that will enhance your understanding of your journey. With that understanding comes the liberating shedding of lifetimes of guilt and doubt. Be gentle, kind, and generous with yourself– you deserve it.

It’s March, the month that signals the end of winter and the beginning of spring. What old things, people, beliefs, and habits do you need to shed in preparation for a brand new seasonal year? What newness do you need to be prepared to examine and accept? This is an auspicious time to set off on a new adventure. Remember Goethe’s great advice, “Whatever you do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.”

Mercury, the planet that rules plans, ideas, communications, and roadways is still Retrograde until March 9th. This Retrograde has been so gnarly, I’ve taken to calling it “Mercury Tirade.” Whenever Mercury is Retrograde, we all get a chance for “do overs”, whether we want them or not. Delays, cancellations, and misconceptions run rampant during this time. Buying big, expensive or motorized items, such as houses, cars, computers, or tools is not a good idea. Try to avoid having medical procedures and signing contracts, too. It isn’t all bad news, though. Rethinking, researching, and re-evaluating on both the inner and outer levels are a great way to use this time. Then, when Mercury does go direct on the 9th, you can move forward with confidence.

THE EMPEROR (March 21 – April 20) Mars, the planet of decisive action, is in its best sign now and it’s important that you use your highly creative imagination in a structured way. Your current ideas are golden. In order for you to mine them for all they’re worth and “strike it rich”, you’ll need to use order, foundation, and structure as you implement your ideas for lasting success. You’ll attract support from previously unresponsive sources as you direct your energy toward the achievement of your goals.

EMPRESS (April 21 – May 20) By now you’re beginning to feel the effects of the planet of brilliance, chaos, divine insight, and unpredictability, Uranus, which has been in your sign for the past year. Uranus is presenting you with an opportunity (read “mandate”) to step out of the box and redefine yourself by examining your ideas of security, value, and self-worth. THE LOVERS (May 21 – June 20) Care, especially self-care, is on the agenda now. Do those you care about, take you and your feelings into consideration?  Do those you care for, interact with you both passionately and compassionately? The beauty and value of consideration and compassion are priceless– make sure you’re on the receiving end, too. Your biggest challenge will be to examine and re-evaluate your relationship with yourself. This will lead to more open, honest and rewarding relationships with everyone else.

THE CHARIOT (June 21 – July 20) Are you waiting for the other shoe to drop because almost everywhere you look, intense changes are occurring? Are you wondering when it’ll be your turn?  Well– not only will it not be your turn to “suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”, this is a time of embracing your personal power and creating the life you want. This is a fortunate time for you and metaphorically speaking, you’re barefoot on a sunny beach in the tropics, so no shoes will be dropping for or on you. Accept your good fortune, enjoy the life you’re creating, and be in gratitude.

THE SUN (July 21 – August 22) Place yourself at the center of your life and re-examine, re-evaluate and re-determine what is of value to you and your world. During this time of self-examination and transformation, you’ll discover how to best use your gifts as you come to terms with just how important you really are. New options will present themselves to you, so take some of that great advice and encouragement you give it to yourself.

THE HERMIT (August 23 – September 22) You keenly feel the effects of all of the changes in the air and want to work hard at getting yourself and them under control. That won’t work this time.  What you need now is TRUST and PATIENCE, They’ll bring the re-assurance you need. And do not jump to conclusions or act on assumptions. Things are not what they seem– they’re actually better than they initially appear. A lot of great things are coming your way, but not in the way you’re used to or expect. Your mission– simply breathe and go with the flow.

JUSTICE (September 23 – October 22) This is a great time to nurture yourself. The choices and decisions you need to make can wait until you’ve checked in with your inner self. The world will wait, please remove the burdens of it from your shoulders. Everything is in the process of sorting itself out. Use the Zen approach to life and watch life unfold just as it should right before your eyes. Be like Alfred E. Neuman.

THE MAGICIAN (October 23 – November 21) With your innate ability to see more deeply than others, life will never be dull. That tangible security you’re seeking can only be found by exploring intangible paths. It’s adventure time for you, so throw the dart at the map and go where it lands. You’re a natural detective and you’ll discover the people and circumstances you need to assist you on this adventure to uncover your greatness. Yes, there will be bumps and scrapes along the way– all worthwhile quests encounter them. Your terrestrial and celestial guides will protect you.

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE (November 22 – December 21) You are a visionary with an ability to see as far into the future as you can see into the past. THE STAR (January 20 – February 19) So many phenomenal opportunities are presenting themselves to you! You’ve earned this time and attention from the Universe, so please open yourself up to accepting the new. Your charisma is at an all-time high and you’re going to look good to a lot of people. Your responsibility here is to have a great time and be careful about who and what you allow into your energy field. The choices you make and the balance you create from those choices will automatically create the perfect environment for your new way of showing up in the world..

THE MOON (February 20 – March 20) Ah– self-expression! You’re a master at it. You do need to understand that everyone doesn’t have the ability to see and feel as you do, though. The Universe is teaching you to be more faithful to your hopes, wishes, and dreams of the past as well as those of the present and future. This is a good time to review your unfinished projects, complete them, and send them out into the world. You’re already a team player; now it’s time for you to shine as a solo artist.

It’s the second month of the year and much is happening. So much so that there’s even an extra day to contain it all. There’s Groundhog day, Valentine’s Day, my personal favorite– National Dark Chocolate Day, and Mercury, the planet of communication, which will be retrograde from February 16^th until March 9^th. Most of this month’s energies are subtle and nuanced. Whether what is happening is viewed as positive or negative, is a matter of choice and perspective. Which direction will you face; what view will you take?

Regarding Mercury Retrograde, when a planet is retrograde, whatever qualities it rules are up for review. Mercury rules communication, thoughts, and plans. Some of what (or who) comes up for us or back to us is timely and needs to be honored by our attention; the old memories, stories and relationships that are negative, harmful, and/or no longer true for us, though, need to be released.

Please remember that all manner of mistakes and misunderstandings can occur during this period. If you can, hold off on buying (or leasing) any big ticket items until after March 9^th. It’s also a good idea to triple check any and all plans you make. This is an excellent time for research and going on retreats, as those things that are usually hidden from view, show themselves more easily during a Mercury Retrograde period. Wait until Mercury goes direct before making any big decisions and enacting any major plans.

Every profound experience of our lives has a song or sound track accompanying it. (When you think about it, what could be more profound than National Dark Chocolate Day?) Whether we’re familiar with the tune or not, whenever we hear it, we come face-to-face with our recollection of the experiences that the song evokes. Your message this month comes in the form of a song. As you listen to it, allow those old recollections to come to your consciousness so that you can clearly see what/who/where you are, as well as what’s really yours and what isn’t any more.

Happy New Year and Happy New Decade! 2020 brings us a fresh new year with exciting opportunities. This is the year to consciously take stock of yourself, your motivations, and your aspirations. Endings and beginnings, opportunities and challenges always trigger periods of profound reflection and soul searching. Use what you discover to create the life you were meant to have.

2020– a “4” Universal year and the beginning of a new decade, calls for us to put foundations under the hopes, wishes, and desires we’ve nurtured as we continue our 9-year trajectory of completion of this arc. It’s a ‘nuts and bolts’ year, a foundation year where we sort through and put in order our talents, skills, and resources. We are here to do miraculous, empowering deeds as well as discover and demonstrate courage, integrity, and heart. Let’s honor our intention by manifesting our dreams into positive reality.

Because of our insistence, especially during the last few years, on supporting all of humanity, the tide has turned and now, even though there’s still a lot to do, we will be the victors if we continue moving forward with the energy and determination that have carried us through these past ugly times.
